PEACE ADVOCACY - CONFLICT TRANSFORMATION & PEACE BUILDING
The CSO-FP is currently engaged Internal Peace and Security Plan (IPSP)-Bayanihan of the Military to monitor the Human Rights Violations (HRVs), International Humanitarian Law (IHL) violations and the Rule of Law (RoL), in partnership with the Bantay Bayanihan (locally named Bantay Kalilintad) and the Community Policing project in partnership with Security reform Initiative (SRI).
The CSO-FP has conducted Peace forums, security forums, round table discussions, peace dialogues, Human rights violations (HRVs) fact findings and Emergency response in 2003 and 2008 conflicts. Conducted consultations and forums on Memorandum of Agreement on Ancestral Domain (MOA-AD). Spearheaded the celebrations on the Mindanao Week of Peace (MWoP) every last Thursday of November to first Wednesday of December every year, including the Human Rights Celebration in December 10 of each year.
In 2011, Conducted series of dialogues with the GPH and MILF Peace Panels with the Iligan City public officials. Spearheaded the Iligan Week of Peace Celebration (IWoP) every last week of March each year. Organized the Crisis management team (CMT) to conduct fact finding missions and community dialogues. The CMT has successfully conducted the dialogue with the Military and the MILF officials, to prevent the possible armed conflict on political confrontation in Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte, between MILF Kumander Bravo and former Mayor Samporna in early of 2008. The CMT also participated in the conduct of the fact finding mission on human rights abuses as a result of the attack in Kauswagan in 2008 armed conflict.
Conducted HRVs fact finding in Zamboanga Sibugay armed conflict in 2011, including the HR violations of Special CAFGU Augmentation Auxillary (SCAA) of TVI mining operations in Zamboanga del Sur in 2012. Conducted trainings on human rights defenders in Iligan City and Zamboanga Peninsula as an instrument to seek justice for the common people affected by the mining operation controversy.
Conducted forums of the ongoing GPH-MILF Peace process especially on the Framework Agreement on the Bangsamoro (FAB), in partnership with the Lanao Peace Partnership (LPP) and German Development Cooperation (GIZ), Mindanao CSOs Platform for Peace (MCSOPP), and in cooperation of the local Non-government organizations (NGOs), religious sector, academe and other sectoral organizations.

GOOD GOVERNANCE
CSO-FP is a project partner of Citizen Action Network for Accountability (CANA) in 2014, a network of National media Organizations such as, NUJP, MINDANEWS, etc., an anti-corruption monitoring in the LGU of Iligan City.
In 2012-2015, CSO-FP was a member of the Local Poverty Reduction Action Team (LPRAT) in partnership with the local government of Iligan City, National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) and Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG). In 2013-2016, the CSO-FP is a member of the local special bodies, such as City Development Council (CDC), a duly accredited NGO in the LGU of Iligan City. The CSO-FP is an Accredited Co-Partner (ACP) of the DOLE Region 10, to implement projects on Bottom-up-Budgeting (BUB)/ Grassroots Participatory Budgeting Process (GPBP), Poverty reduction program. The project WAS implemented in 2014-2015 to the project beneficiaries, the Sendong affected families in Resettled Communities. Typhoon “Sendong” struck in Iligan City on December 16, 2011.

ENVIRONMENT AND CLIMATE CHANGE
CSO-FP was a project partner of Dakila on “Climate School-Project Banig” in year 2013-2014, to educate the Lumad Higaonon of Rogongon, Iligan City related to Climate Change. The CSO-FP is active in its campaign on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) through active participation in Relief operation after the typhoon “Sendong” tragedy Iligan City on December 17, 2011 in partnership with Dakila. The CSO-FP is currently an active member of the Mindanao Emergency Response Network (MERN), Lanao del Norte and actively conducted in launching the WASH project as the lead organization by educating the children in schools on Hygiene promotion after the “Sendong” tragedy, in partnership with the “Save the Children International”.
Successfully conducted the environmental protest with the Barangay the Council of Buru-un, Iligan City and its affected community on Industrial nickel pollution, that victimized a hundred people in one of the communities of Barangay Buru-un by acquiring illnesses due to the Nickel pollution from the Philippine Group of Metal Corporation (PGMC), a nickel processing plant located in Assumption Heights, Buru-un, Iligan City. The said Industrial plant was closed in June 2008, due to the non-compliance of the pollution control device as defined in the Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) from DENR.
Conducted fact finding mission on the 3rd quarter of 2013 on the oil spill pollution from the Granex Oil refinery in Kiwalan, Iligan City as a result of the 4-day fire. The oil spill formed semi solids and sink in the ocean waters of the nearby barangays that affected the fisher-folks and residents in the area. These finding has to counter the claimed of the Granex company that the oil spill is non-toxic, but in reality it’s toxic due to the presence of hydrocarbon. The hydrocarbon is a poisonous substance and it caused damaged and killed the marine species and corals in the area. It also released carbon gases such as carbon dioxide and carbon monoxides that made the people hard to breath.
The CSO-FP has also conducted emergency response to victims of the Typhoon “Sendong” in December 2011 and 2012, in partnership with the Mindanao Emergency Response Network (MERN), United Nations Agencies and Save the Children International. Have Conducted survey in 2012 as part of the research of the impact of Typhoon “Sendong” especially the recent situation of the survivors.

MEDIA ADVOCACY ON PEACE JOURNALISM
Conducted Media training on peace journalism in some Lanao media practitioners. Conducted continuing radio talk show on peace in Mindanao relative to the Bangsamoro question and Good governance issues. Media advocacy is a cross-cutting program on information and education campaign of all the other core programs. Organized the Unified Media Organization (UMO) in 2013. Lead convener in the investigation and monitoring of the case on Media killing in Iligan City.
CSO-FP has organized the Manggagawang Media ng Mindanao (MMM) in 2009, its main partner in peace reportage operating in Northwestern Mindanao. Conducted several media peace forums in the Lanao and Zamboanga peninsula areas related to the GPH-MILF peace process. Conducted the Lanao Media Summit to address the alleged media black-out in Lanao del Sur at the height of the MOA-AD controversy in 2008. Have successfully conducted media dialogue to war journalists aggravated the conflict in Lanao in 2008.

GENDER AND CHILD PROTECTION
The CSO-FP is advocating the law on Anti-Violence Against Women and Children (Anti-VAWC) in partnership with the Mindanao Commission on Women (MCW), providing education to community through forums and consultations. Organized the “Men against VAWC” to carry-out the issue on women and children’s protection. Also successfully campaigned the women candidates in local election started in 2010, the first ever elections that women candidates (2 successful women candidates) won in the local elections in Iligan City. Conducted trainings on Child Rights protection based on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) in partnership with the MERN and Save the Children International.
